The city of Sydney has 4.2 million inhabitants making it the most densely populated city in Australia. It is the capital of New South Wales and has an all year round temperate climate. Not as humid as Darwin or as cool as Adelaide, Sydney can on occasion be warmer in Winter than in summer having an average temperature of 26 degrees.
Often compared with London, it has a large economic environment and busy lifestyle. It is mistaken by some to be the capital of Australia instead of Canberra; famous for its foliage rather than a flourishing business ecosystem.
Thouands of tourists flock to Sydney each year to experence the many talked about sights and attractions that the city holds.
Darling Harbour alone offers countless places that would be of interest. A sea life centre inhabits the area by the many ferries on supply in the harbour; ferries that arrive frequently and go to numerous places such as Manly and the popular Taronga Zoo. Only a short walk from the harbour and visitors will arrive at the Chinese Gardens and China Town. Entry to China Town is free and a wander through the decorated streets offer a wide choice of cuisine and holds a variation of performances in parallel to the Chinese calender.
Sydney offers visitors a great nightlife with its endless bars and restaurants which line the harbour as well as further into the city itself.
The well known landmarks of Sydney include the Sydney Opera House which presents performances from classical orchestras to comic theatricals put on in the playhouse. The Sydney Harbour Bridge is nearby; people are able to walk across the top of the bridge, capturing almost a bird’s eye view of the city. Both of these attractions are in close proximity to the Royal Botanic Gardens. These gardens cover 30 hectares of land and are open for not only visitors to view but also for weddings, tours and educational visits.
Culture in Sydney is available at every turning. Shopping caters for all where Asian, European, African and American food is plentiful. The Sydney Powerhouse Museum and the Australian National Maritime Museum are both educational and open for new experiences.
Throughout Sydney, travel is made easy and stress free with frequent buses, trains, ferries and the monorail. Visitors can take a ferry to the Circular Quay and with a short walk, can visit the Rocks where a large market supplies a great selection of products which include food, houseware and jewellery.
