The city of Dubai has been propelled from a relatively anonymous medium-sized sleepy town to the Middle East’s undisputed number one leisure and business hub in little under 30 years. Offering an interesting fusion of western modernity and traditional Arab culture, vibrant Dubai is an ideal destination for visitors who desire sun, sand and sea, culture comfort and a lot more.

Although Burj Dubai totally dominates the city’s skyline, there are many other buildings that also attract a lot of attention including the Jumeirah Emirates Towers, the Dubai World Trade Centre and the National Bank of Dubai. It’s not just vertically that spectacular construction has taken place in Dubai. An ambitious reclamation of land from the Arabian Gulf has resulted in the construction of The Palm Jumeirah, a man made island laid out in the shape of a gigantic palm tree that consists of an incredible development of homes, retail, leisure entertainment and the exclusive Atlantis The Palm Hotel.

Travel to Dubai to see such wonderful sights is now a lot easier due to the expansion of the international airport begun that began in 2002 to keep in line with the city’s rapid development. As a result of ongoing works at the airport, it now handles 37 million passengers per year, with plans to ultimately increase its passenger capacity to a staggering 80 million per year.

Visitors receive a warm welcome from the instant they touch down at Dubai International Airport. The city’s traditional Islamic culture works well alongside an influx of westerners that come with a more cosmopolitan approach. Built on mutual respect this multi-cultural society ensures that the city continues to thrive and will attract visitors for many years to come.
